What is Playface?

Playface is the digital platform for sports participation.

Playface is not an adapted application but has been designed from the ground up to be just about sport.

From the outset we decided that we needed to make Playface suitable for children to use as we think it is vital that our children are given the best chance to play sports that they like.

So to make Playface accessible to all, we really need to include parents, teachers and carers. Because Playface is about playing sport rather than building virtual relationships, the chances are that you will be involved in your children’s activities and we really hope you are.

Safe Social Networking

Most social networking sites are designed for adults with the emphasis on creating an ever increasing address book of virtual friends. Playface has been built using an ‘opt in’ model which means that our users always have control over what information is displayed on the site and who can view it. Sport is essentially a localised activity and so Playface is focused on providing features which will help groups get together and play.

How is Playface Different?

Playface has been built with the cooperation of UK based bodies responsible for online safety. We feel strongly that children should have every opportunity to play sport and so have built in the most advanced safeguards and reporting interfaces.

Playface is designed to support smaller groups (teams) rather than larger groups and so we don’t see many of the problems which relate to general social networking sites.

In the end it is pointless to pretend to be someone you aren’t on Playface as you will be found out when you come to play.

Playface has a proactive and a reactive approach to online safety. So in addition to our privacy and safeguarding features, we are able to report problems directly to law enforcement very quickly. And because Playface contains everything you need to play sport in one place, there is no need to go to another platform which may not be as safe to use.

Playface Mentor System

• Playface actively safeguards children with our unique ‘Mentor’ system.
• As a parent/carer you will act as your child’s Playface Mentor and will have visibility and control over their online safety.
• Like all good ideas, the mentor system is very simple and easy to use.
• As well as being able to see and approve your child’s links to buddies and teams, you will also be notified of all events they are invited to.
• And the aim is that you are actively involved in playing and enjoying sport with your children.

Playface Activation Message

When you child registers their Playface profile you will automatically receive and activation notice by email. In order to make your child’s profile live you will need to approve it by clicking the link and confirming your relationship at their Playface Mentor.

Learning Skills For Life

As your children use Playface to play sport and interact with others they will learn important skills that will serve them well throughout their lives. We all know about the many benefits of an active lifestyle but by helping make sport happen Playface helps equip children for life in our society:

• Learning always to give of your best
